Are you an experienced Building Engineer looking for your next opportunity in Facilities Management?

We’re hiring a Building Engineer in Lenoir City, Tennessee, to support the operation, maintenance and repair of a range of building systems. You’ll work across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety and mechanical systems, helping ensure the facility remains safe, compliant and operating efficiently.
the role As a Building Engineer, you’ll:
  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural building systems
  • Monitor, maintain and repair HVAC and heating and cooling systems
  • Support the maintenance of fire alarms, life safety and building control systems
  • Diagnose equipment and building system faults and complete repairs
  • Carry out emergency repairs when required
  • Support the preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment lifespan and reliability
  • Monitor building systems to ensure equipment is operating within its design capabilities
  • Maintain energy management programs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Ensure work complies with applicable codes, regulations and safety requirements
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including the correct handling and storage of hazardous materials
  • Share technical knowledge and provide support to other members of the engineering team
about you To be successful as a Building Engineer, you’ll bring:
  • High School Diploma, GED or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of relevant building engineering or maintenance experience
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting commercial building systems
  • Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment when responding to maintenance issues
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, climbing stairs or ladders and lifting/carrying 50 lbs. or more
Universal CFC certification is preferred, alongside any licenses or certifications required by local or state jurisdictions. Previous shift leadership or supervisory experience would also be beneficial.
