Assistant Chief Engineer


A leading global facilities and real estate services organization is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer - Data Center to support a mission-critical data center operation in Texas.

Working closely with the Chief Engineer, you'll help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure while providing hands-on technical leadership to the engineering team.


The Role

 
As the Assistant Chief Engineer - Data Center, you'll:
  • Support the Chief Engineer with daily operation of mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Maintain 24/7 availability and operational reliability across critical MEP systems.
  • Monitor UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, transformers, and power distribution systems.
  • Provide technical direction to engineers, technicians, contractors, and service providers.
  • Lead troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Support safe working practices and operational procedures across the data center.
About You
 
To be successful as the Assistant Chief Engineer - Data Center, you'll have:
  • 5+ years of facilities engineering or mission-critical environment experience.
  • Proven experience providing technical leadership or supervising engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS/STS, and power distribution.
  • Hands-on experience with BMS, EPMS, and CMMS platforms.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills within critical environments.
  • Technical qualifications, CDCP/CDFOM certification, or NFPA 70E knowledge are preferred.
