Building Engineer

You’ll focus on preventative maintenance, emergency response, and system optimisation—ensuring peak building performance and occupant safety.

As the Building Engineer, you’ll:
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of building systems: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, life safety, and electrical.
  • Operate and optimise energy management and control systems.
  • Respond to urgent repair needs and support emergency maintenance with sound technical judgement.
  • Implement a proactive preventive maintenance programme to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Ensure all work complies with company, local, and state regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
  • Mentor junior team members, promoting best practices and maintaining a high standard of safety and workmanship.
  • Evaluate existing systems and recommend or implement improvements.
  • Accurately document inspections, repairs, and performance updates in line with company procedures.
  • Represent the company’s values through professional communication and consistent service delivery.
To be successful in the role of Building Engineer, you’ll bring:
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or trade school qualification (equivalent work experience also considered).
  • At least 4–5 years of hands-on building engineering experience, including mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • Universal CFC certification (preferred).
  • Local/state trade licenses or the willingness to obtain and maintain them.
  • Strong physical capabilities to meet role demands: lifting (50+ lbs), climbing, standing, and working in confined spaces.
  • A detail-focused, safety-first mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with financial or technical calculations.
  • Prior supervisory or shift leadership experience is a plus.
  • Experience with high-pressure or steam systems is highly desirable.
