Are you an experienced Building Engineer or HVAC Technician looking to join a global leader in commercial real estate and facilities management?
We're recruiting for a Building Engineer (HVAC) to support operations at a large industrial facility in Ames, Iowa. In this hands-on role, you'll maintain critical building systems, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and help ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards.

The Role As the Building Engineer, you will: - Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, and life safety systems.
- Ensure building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with all regulatory and company standards.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and emergency repairs while minimising operational downtime.
- Support the preventive maintenance programme using CMMS, helping maximise equipment reliability and asset life.
- Promote a safe working environment while collaborating with colleagues and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
You To be successful in this Building Engineer role, you'll bring: - 4-5 years' experience as a Building Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, HVAC Technician, Facilities Engineer, or similar role within commercial or industrial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems maintenance.
- Universal EPA/CFC Certification preferred, along with any required state or local licences.
- Experience using CMMS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
