Our client, a leading global provider in the FM industry, is looking for a
Boiler Operator/Building Engineer based in
King of Prussia, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
In this role, your expertise will ensure optimal building operations, system performance, and the maintenance of high-standard facilities at a premier location.
The Role As the Boiler Operator/Building Engineer, you’ll be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing critical building system operations. Your key duties will include:
- Systems Maintenance: Performing maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, electrical, and fire/life safety systems to keep the facility up to applicable standards.
- Operational Standards: Reviewing inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and boilers, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.
- Preventive Care: Implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure building machinery meets or exceeds its rated life, while performing emergency repairs as necessary.
- Energy & Safety: Maintaining an energy management program for maximum efficiency and complying with all codes, regulations, and company directives related to work safety.
- Technical Leadership: Applying in-depth knowledge to provide innovative solutions and coaching colleagues to enhance team performance and operational excellence.
- Collaboration: Working to build consensus and model professional behaviours that align with core company values.
You To be successful in the role of Boiler Operator/Building Engineer, you’ll bring:
- Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Certifications: Universal CFC certification is preferred; additional certifications or licences required by local or state jurisdictions are a plus.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and sophisticated math skills for calculating complex figures and percentages.
- Physical Capability: Ability to meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, climbing ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs or more.
- Mindset: An analytical and inquisitive mindset with the ability to exercise sound judgement and take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Leadership: Prior shift management or supervisory experience is preferred.
