The Role: Strategic Leadership and Project Delivery Ownership
The
Head of Projects will take full ownership of the project delivery lifecycle within their Business Unit, focusing on safe, efficient, and profitable outcomes. The role requires a strong focus on both client relationship management and strategic execution.
Key Responsibilities for Project Leadership: - Lead and develop a project delivery team, ensuring projects are executed safely and effectively.
- Build and manage a sales pipeline to drive significant project revenue and strategic business growth.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring all work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of client satisfaction.
- Identify, mitigate, and manage risks across all technical, statutory, Health & Safety, and commercial domains.
- Manage project delivery across both maintenance and construction contracts, aligning with company standards and industry best practice.
- Maximize profitability through effective cost management, commercial oversight, and supplier performance tracking.
- Develop and manage bids, tenders, and proposals with clear strategic and commercial oversight.
- Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
- Drive innovation by pursuing new opportunities and integrating emerging technologies within Project Management.
- Ensure all projects strictly comply with QHSE standards, statutory regulations, and technical industry best practice.
Candidate Profile: Required Expertise and Leadership
To be successful as the
Head of Projects in this demanding environment, candidates must demonstrate executive-level experience and commercial acumen:
- Proven Track Record: Success in delivering large-scale projects within M&E, Facilities Management (FM), Construction, or Critical Environments.
- Commercial Expertise: Extensive experience managing a full P&L and a deep understanding of commercial drivers, including developing high-value bids and tenders.
- Leadership: Experience in successfully leading, developing, and mentoring high-performing project teams.
- Education (Desirable): A technical qualification in Construction, M&E, or similar, and/or a degree-level qualification in Project/Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
- Attributes: Highly organized, analytical, and results-driven with a strong capacity to perform in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- Strategic Mindset: A passion for driving innovation, long-term growth, and challenging the status quo constructively.
